Greetings to the Fantastic Freedom Family,

I am Sabrina McCombs, the New Principal of Fantastic Freedom Middle School. I am honored and delighted to lead our students, staff, and community to the next level of academic achievement. I am a native of the DeKalb County School District where I attended Sky Haven Elementary and graduated from Columbia High School. I hold degrees from The University of West Ga., Brenau University, and Argosy University.

My educational career began in the Atlanta Public School System as a substitute teacher and a paraprofessional. I continued my work as a Science teacher for the DeKalb County School District at Snapfinger Elementary and Columbia Middle School. In November 2013, I joined the Freedom Middle School family as an Instructional Coach. In 2015, Dr. Boston promoted me to an Assistant Principal. As the Sensational Sixth Grade Assistant Principal, I have served as the Attendance A.P., Testing Coordinator, and Assistant Principal of Instruction. On October 30, 2023, I began my service as the seventh Principal of Fantastic Freedom Middle School.

As Principal of Fantastic Freedom, I am committed to continuing to sustain our 5-star culture and climate. My initial focus is establishing a culture centered on increased student achievement, student exposure to career and college opportunities, and mentoring and supporting the Freedom faculty and staff.

As a middle school instructor, I loved to tell my students that experience is the best teacher. I will carry that mantra with me as the leader of this Fantastic Institution. As the new instructional leader of Freedom Middle, I aspire to create and cultivate the educational experience for my students so that they are engaged in rigorous and relevant, authentic learning.
